Matt Schamanski
Matt Schamanski brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Sutter Union High School football program, where he serves as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator. During his tenure, Sutter High has reached the semifinals or finals of the playoffs every year, establishing itself as one of the most consistent programs in the region. Under his leadership, the Huskies’ defense has become a hallmark of the team’s success, helping compile an impressive career record of 163–31.
Throughout his career, Coach Schamanski has guided multiple athletes to achieve All-State recognition and has proudly watched many of his defensive players continue their careers at the collegiate level. His coaching philosophy focuses on discipline, preparation, and resilience, instilling qualities that help his athletes succeed both on the field and in life.
Beyond football, Matt is a dedicated family man. He has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 20 years, and together they are proud parents of twin daughters, Makala and Madison. Madison is currently a collegiate softball player at the University of Mary in North Dakota, while Makala is completing coursework to pursue a career in nursing.
Known for his commitment to excellence, leadership, and player development, Coach Schamanski continues to inspire student-athletes and uphold the winning tradition of Sutter Union High School football.
