Bio
Coach Simard began his football coaching career in 2008 with the Sutter Junior Huskies, coaching at that level for five seasons, before joining the high school staff. Now in his 12th year with Sutter High Football — including 10 on the Varsity staff — he works with the Tight Ends and Offensive Line and oversees the team’s technology needs. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Coach Simard credits much of his leadership style and coaching fundamentals to his time in the Corps, along with years coaching youth and travel baseball.
Coach Simard's coaching philosophy is grounded in service to the community by developing leaders:
"I coach because football offers the same sense of teamwork, discipline, and shared purpose I valued in the Marine Corps. It’s a way to give back to the program and community that has given so much to my family while helping young men grow into accountable, confident leaders. The lessons learned on the field — resilience, commitment, and working for something bigger than yourself — prepare our players for success in school, work, and life, long after the final whistle."
“Leadership is a matter of having people look at you and gain confidence… If you’re in control, they’re in control.” Tom Landry
